Quiptic 785 by Hectence
Hectence returns to the Quiptic slot with a puzzle that I thought had just the right amount of head-scratching required to get the sluggish Monday morning brain into gear.

It’s now past ten of the clock. The fact that I normally have the Quiptic blog out early, being a lark rather than an owl, tells you how I found this one. So … Read more >>
Quiptic 783 by Moley
The former English teacher returns to the Quiptic slot with a puzzle that left this poor solver with a couple of self-inflicted wounds.
Guardian Quiptic 782/Pan
A Quiptic should have no bells and whistles, no unusual words, a friendly grid and be clearly clued. Did this puzzle tick those boxes? I think so. Pan has eschewed cds and dds … Read more >>

Quiptic 777 by Beale
The mysterious Beale returns to the Quiptic slot this week with an enjoyable puzzle that may cause a little head-scratching in places.
I say ‘mysterious’ because the profile on the Guardian site informs us only that ‘Beale is a crossword setter’. The Crossword Who’s Who on the Best for Puzzles site is similarly coy, telling us only that ‘Beale is a setter of Quiptic crosswords’. I never came top of my class at school but I think I knew that already. Perhaps Quiptic regulars know more.
Guardian Quiptic 776/Moley
An unexceptionable Quiptic from Moley this morning. Which is what Quiptics are meant to be. Plenty of anagrams to get you going, and generally clear cluing otherwise. A good number of clues with … Read more >>
