BOBCAT kicks off the week…

A very enjoyable, and slightly trickier than usual, Monday morning puzzle, with the expected feline Nina.

I liked PART OF SPEECH and NOT HALF. I looked up “soreate” before getting ROSEATE. Thanks, both

Ashamed to admit I missed the Nina 🙂

Good fun with some quirky clues

    Cheers B&T

I found this extremely tricky, hardly any solutions surrendered easily.
In fact, spotting CHEETAH was a boon, I was in a right old struggle in the top half of the grid.
I can’t quibble, everything works, and I felt pretty chuffed to finish.
    Tough but, ultimately, fair.
    Thanks Bobcat & Teacow

Thanks Bobcat. I found this challenging at times but everything slipped into place, sometimes from the definitions alone with the parse coming afterwards. My top picks were GO BANANAS, NOT HALF (fun surface), TORPEDO, PHYSICS, CHASTEN, SET FREE, LANTERN, and the hidden CHEETAH. Thanks Teacow for the blog.

Challenging in places but I got it all with a little bit of help from a wordfinder (for CHASTEN, which then gave me ROSEATE – I’d forgotten Ate as a Greek goddess). A very nice PDM when I got NEUROSURGEON. And I managed to spot the nina – after finishing.
    Thanks, Bobcat and Teacow.
