As is normal at the moment, we have a puzzle from Eccles to challenge us today.
Something odd has been happening on the Independent website. Today’s puzzle should be 11,987 by Grecian, but earlier today the website was showing a puzzle from 4 years ago; it’s now been fixed. If you’ve just solved 10,736 by Rodriguez, here’s the blog that Duncan wrote for it back in 2021. We have a crossword from Twin, a setter who has been appearing monthly recently. Twin’s first Independent crossword was set at the end of 2022.

This was largely a gentle puzzle with lots of clues and no long answers.

First time I have had to blog a puzzle by Stamp and I wondered what I might be in for.
Since their first puzzle about 2 years ago they have always had something more to offer, in terms of a theme of the day etc.
(I’ll stay tight-lipped about whether I managed to solve the previous puzzles I attempted. I recall some have been on the hard side for me.)
Independent puzzles on a Friday are usually set by Phi and today is no exception.
