The usual good-quality Azed competition puzzle: everything seems to be soundly clued.
Definitions underlined and in maroon.
In the preamble it says ‘NB Competition clues submitted should begin with an appropriate letter so as to complete a hidden message‘. I spent ages trying to find this hidden message.
A nina in an Everyman? Well possibly.

All present and correct. I found this very pleasurable, not the hardest AZED but a nicely consistent level of difficulty from the start to the finish. Thank you Azed.
Only one error (and that only the numbering of a clue) in a plain Azed this week.

Because the closing date for entries has been extended by a week, the blog for this puzzle has been rescheduled and will now appear next Sunday (19th Feb).
Well it’s the Everyman, and this time it’s my turn to blog.
A fairly hard Azed this time — with more than its fair share of heraldic terms, intricate wordplays and one very nice “follow-on” clue.

The usual Azed. All pretty sound so far as I can see. You really need to have Chambers by your side; it would be an endless task for me to explain everything everywhere.
