There is a Jumbo cryptic by Paul in today’s Guardian Puzzle special magazine.
I can’t see a solution in either the puzzles magazine itself, or in the paper, so a blog will be written for publication next Saturday (1st August)

Answers in the paper and online next Saturday .
Bloody Tesco! Not a sight or smell of the puzzle special in my copy. I did check that the Saturday magazine was included, but wasn’t really aware to look for the extra insert.
Mine was tucked inside the Saturday Magazine .

Go back and ask for one – they always have left over papers anyway
There is a bonus Quick Cryptic too if anyone (Shanne?) fancies blogging that one π let me know if any extra info needed π
There are details of how to obtain missing sections at the bottom corner of page 2 of the main paper.
Dice @9 – I couldn’t get hold of a Guardian tree version when I went looking on Saturday, admittedly late because it was the day of one of the local horticultural shows and I had spent much of the day faffing around sorting that out*. I did blog the last Quick Cryptic special and it was an interesting exercise of irritation that no-one could access the puzzle. I’ll see if I can find anything online.
* I had to be there in the morning to place the 20 odd entries, and back again in the afternoon to remove said entries and return to them to the storage cupboard where I’d stashed the bigger bits between the end of term and this show.
OK, I’ve been digging, and according to this page discussing the puzzles supplement, “[a] downloadable version of the supplement is also available to subscribers of the Guardian Editions app”. As a Guardian electronic subscriber, I could download the Guardian Editions app to see the crossword(s)/puzzle supplement. I usually use the Guardian News app (which lets me access the usual crosswords electronically, and this weekend the Brassica US Special).
This is useful as I’m also on the blogging rota for the jumbo puzzles.
It’s going to give me something on paper, a print out from an image, so not a pdf for the utility. Although I have scanned in images to get words, it’s not quick.
I only accessed the app this past weekend as well – not something I realised was there previously! I agree itβs a bit of a strange situation when people can access the blog online but not the puzzle! Sorry, I checked back for replies once and then forgot again! Hope you managed it ok! Thank you as always, your QC blogs are wonderful!
Sorry not sure if this is right place to comment. There appear to be minor mistakes with the metapuzzle in this summer special (page 3):
the first 6-letter word space should be 7 letters
There are 3 x 2-letter words in the phrase. Two 2-letter words are indicated within the mag, both the same word (in). One of those is correct. The other two should be so and to.
I have the iPad Guardian App and there are a whole bunch of crosswords in the Summer Puzzle supplement along with Paulβs jumbo. The last one is by Alan Connor and is titled The most Guardian crossword ever. Does anyone know if / when they will publish the solutions to this one ??
Simon@11 , see me@1 . Answers for everything .
Roz@12. Thank you.
Dice @9 – I solved the puzzle on paper and brought it away with me, but I’m not on great internet – using my phone to link me online now. I’ll see if I can get the puzzle out this weekend, but I’ve also got to do tomorrrow’s, so no promises.
