We may have the same intro every week I fear.
Guardian Genius 168 / Boatman
Well – this was a proper genius puzzle!! A mind-boggling set of instructions that not only had us wondering how and where to start, but once we were getting into the puzzle, how … Read more >>
Independent on Sunday 1,427 by Phi
A middling sort of puzzle, not a pushover but not going to upset your Sunday lunch plans either. Thank you Phi.

Radian making a rare Saturday appearance with a puzzle that made a fool of me, twice! Solving went well to begin with. I made a note: A dozen clues answered at the first pass. Later … Read more >>
Enigmatic Variations No. 1283: Coastline Clashes by Oxymoron
Hmm…what sort of ‘COASTLINE CLASHES’ is Oxymoron testing us with this week? I’m not so good on history, so if it is sea battles I might struggle… The preamble states: “Each of the six … Read more >>
Guardian Prize 27,232 by Picaroon
I made very heavy weather of this one, it took me an absolute age to finish it. In retrospect I cannot see any reason for this. The clues are very straightforward and there are no devious tricks in here at all. I think making a straightforward puzzle seem tricky must be considered a form of deviousness in itself. Independent 9582/Serpent

Financial Times 15,588 by REDSHANK
Sorry for the late blog. I solved the crossword before breakfast, but the blogging package was unavailable until after I got into work, so this will be a quick one.
Guardian 27,236 – Paul

Financial Times 15,579 – Dante
Monday Prize Crossword / Jun 19, 2017
A Dante puzzle in which he clearly lives up to his reputation as a lover of cryptic (and double) definitions.
