The 3D Calendar crossword puzzle for this month (September 2016) is now available, and is another first in the crossword world – a 3D puzzle with an added 4D element. However mind-boggling that might sound, it involves a simple enough idea and solvers will find the puzzle is no trickier than most of the other 3D puzzles on offer.

Some of you may remember that a few years ago we were asked to participate in a survey regarding cryptic crosswords. A few may even have attended the subsequent trials held at Buckingham University. Though some preliminary feedback was available in 2011, it is not until now that the first results have been published. Below is a message from the research team.

Our Derby S&B is only a few weeks away, on Saturday 21st May. It will be at The Brunswick Inn, which is a very short distance from Derby station. Come out of the station at the main exit, cross the road and bear right. In a couple of hundred metres, you’ll find the pub on your left.
